 | I was asked to write a note about my recent experience as a volunteer. Last winter I became a Big Brother in the Alliston area. I had seen the sign on the hill outside of Cookstown for many years and always thought that was a noble cause... Darryl | | I wrote this article 3 years ago for a company newsletter. It is as true today as it was then. Volunteering had already become a part of my life but the most rewarding activity had just started. I had become a Big Sister! I can proudly say that our match of Little Sister and Big Sister is going strong to this day. Please share a little magic and support Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Simcoe. Volunteering in the Community, by Pauline Assinck-Wallen Nov 2004 | | Why I Volunteer? This past spring, I had the opportunity to take part in a Coach’s Clinic put on by the Toronto Argonauts for minor league football coaches. Michael “Pinball” Clemons addressed the group with a very inspiring message, and then took questions and answers. Paul | | Since I was 13 years old, I have always volunteered at least a few hours per week. I started to volunteer because I was motivated to help others and could not afford to donate money (this was true throughout my student years and my first few years of working — by then I was hooked on volunteering & now both donate when I can & volunteer).
